Later, in 1971, after the liberation of Bangladesh, the Nurses of Bangladesh being separated from the ” Trained NursesAssociation of Pakistan” formed an association of their own named “Bangladesh Nurses Association (BNA)”. It is a national professional, non-Government, and non-political association for the Bangladeshi Nurses.It was funded in 1972 and registered under the Society Registration Act XXI of 1860 in November 1973 (Amended in 1978). BNA become a member of the Commonwealth Nurses Federation (CNF) in 1974. A constitution for the welfare Fund was drafted in 1979. BNA Represented the International Council of Nurses (ICN) at the South East Asia Regional Annual Conference of WHO in Bangladesh in 1982. Become a member of the International Council of Nurses (ICN) in 1986.
